About

Miriam Remess Pérez is an architect, with a master’s degree in administration (Universidad Veracruzana) and a Ph.D. in Architecture (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). She is a teacher in undergraduate and graduate studies in Architecture and coordinates the Habitability and Sustainable Technology research group. She belongs to the Academic Committee for the Architecture Exam of the National Center for the Evaluation of Higher Education. Throughout her architecture career, she has organized students and teachers in projects for social benefits. She is the co-author of three books and several articles in journals and has carried out research stays abroad.

Education

Miriam Remess Pérez is an Architect from the Universidad Veracruzana (1987) with a Master’s Degree in Administration in the Finance Area (1995) also from the Universidad Veracruzana (IIESCA-UV), PhD in Architecture from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (2007).

Significant achievements

He is a teacher, with 25 years of seniority, currently working in the Faculty of Construction Engineering and Habitat, in the Architecture Educational Program of the Universidad Veracruzana in the Veracruz Region. Since 1996 and in this field, he has advised project exercises, theses and social work, participated in competitions. She serves as coordinator of the UVCA 440 Habitability and Sustainable Technology Academic Body, (2015 to date), in this environment she has carried out social and environmental benefit research, coordinated various seminars and courses. She is a member of the Academic Committee for the General Architecture Graduation Exam (2012 to date). She served as Coordinator of the Architecture Career in the Veracruz Region (2013-2018). She has participated in the international courses offered by the Complutense Latin American School in Mexico (2021) and in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2022). She has completed academic stays in Delft, the Netherlands (2019), in Montreal, Canada (2021) and in Bogotá, Colombia (2022). In the same way, she participated in the first-place winning team of the Innova World Challenge contest (2021), and recently she was part of the second-place international winning team of the Social Business Creation in Montreal, Canada (2022). Finally, she has put theory into practice in the professional field, in which she has developed projects and constructions of various kinds of buildings and types of homes.
