About |
Jam is a mentor, photographer and artist. She came from a creative family – most prominent of which is Larry Alcala, National Artist in Visual Arts (Philippines). Her education in one of the prime universities of the country, and her background in visual communication trained her in mentoring budding professionals especially in the communication field. She has experience teaching photography, multimedia arts and traditional visual arts in prominent institutions. Aside from teaching, she contributes her works to publication and other freelance projects. She occasionally judges photo and other visual art competitions for schools and organizations. Jam also exhibits her works through a non-profit organization where she is the founding Vice President and Board Member. As a woman, she hopes to empower women through her art. She became a delegate to an international group vocational exchange program in Australia last 2019. Jam’s vision is to inspire new media artists by creating more published works and advocacies. Her motivation in joining the SBC community aligns with her life mantra of inspiring individuals to pursue their goals.
She also grew up with an aptitude for business since she was young. Her dad, who was a businessman, taught her some of his learnings from working as an entrepreneur and company owner with several branches in Luzon, Philippines.
