Research interests

Cafenix aims at upcycling and fostering accessibility to Spent Coffee Grounds (SCG) while contributing to the circular economy. The project comprises two main objectives. Firstly, the development of an exclusive and innovative product by leveraging the expertise of technological research centers to explore methods to transform SCGs and harness their chemical elements effectively. Secondly, the project entails establishing logistics for the collection (from cafes, restaurants, universities, offices), treatment, and distribution of transformed SCGs to partner companies for incorporation into their products or production processes

However, as cofounders of the company, we lack expertise in chemistry or physics. While technological research centers can aid us in utilizing SCG by processing and separating its chemical components—such as proteins, minerals, carbohydrates, and lipids—Cafenix remains receptive to fresh insights, expertise, and feedback on this subject.
