About

Currently, I’m a lecturer in International University, National University Vietnam. My background is Food Technology. In 2012, I worked in a NGO (ACDI/VOCA) with a project of “Sustainable Cocoa For Farmer”. Working with farmers, I have recognized that Vietnamese farmers’ income is too low to ensure a sustainable development of agriculture while Vietnam is an agricultural country. My objective is to implement projects to contribute sustainable development of agriculture. Joining SBC community is one of my plan to develop my projects.

Motivation for social impact creation

I develop Jamcop is a way to contribute to environment protection and to sustainable delopment of agriculture. JAMCOP is a jam product which is made from Cocoa Pod Husk (Shell). In Vietnam, farmers sell cocoa beans to fermenters for their income from cocoa trees. They don't use cocoa pod shell while it contains much nutrient, which can be used to make a food product. It is produced to minimize disadvantages of cocoa pods (huge waste volume, astringent taste, browning color after air contact). Jamcop is not only delicious but also nutrient. It contains high amount of antioxidants while no additive or preservative is added. Jamcop may contribute to sustainable development of cocoa industry. Cocoa farmers’ income may be increased from cocoa pod husk besides cocoa beans. Enviromental problem may be improved thanks to JAMCOP.
