About

My name is Bich Ha Dong (she/her). I am a Ph.D. student in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Manitoba (Treaty One, Canada). My research focuses on sustainable development, education, human rights, and local peacebuilding practices in Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam. My approach to research, work, and community services emphasizes self-reflexivity, critical generosity, creativity, and compassion. Through my research, I am committed to collaborating with and supporting different communities to transform our unsustainable and unethical modes of development and education.

  • Sir Gordon Wu Graduate Student Scholarship, University of Manitoba (2022–2025): a doctoral scholarship given to one student with the highest academic standing among students awarded the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship award
  • Babs Asper Memorial Scholarship for Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Manitoba (2022–2023): a doctoral scholarship given to one student in the Arthur V. Mauro Institute for Peace and Justice with good academic standing and embodies public service based on a record of community service.
