About | I am an ICT Expert, specializing in Multimedia Technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI), having 28 years of experiences in teaching, researching and commercializing Multimedia Technologies and also experiences in leading and operating organizations and companies, includes: ‑ Vice Head Dept. of Telecommunication System, School of Electronics and Telecommunications, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST – https://hust.edu.vn). ‑ Vice General Director of VIELINA (Vietnam Research Institute of Electronics, Informatics and Automation – VIELINA) 2012-2015. (VIELINA: https://www.vielina.com) ‑ Director of CMC Institute of Science and Technology – CIST, under CMC Corp., 2018 – 2019 (Web: http://cist.cmc.com.vn) ‑ CEO of VDSMART JSC., a Technology company working on Artificial Intelligent applications for education (http://vdsmart.vn). (2019-date) ‑ Chairman of VISEDU – Vietnam Smart Education Group (2020-date) http://visedu.vn My overall goal is to bring Hi-tech to people to address and smarten up their daily life. During 17 years teaching and research Multimedia Technology in SET-HUST (1995-2012), I accumulated experiences on R&D projects, especially key National ICT projects (such as the KC-01) and national projects with EU partners. In 2012, I moved to the VIELINA and change the focus to commercializing research on Robotics & AI and Green Technologies, such as Smart Grid & Renewable Energy. In VIELINA, I successfully getting a large grant of 3 mil. USD from the World bank titled: “Capacity building in Research and Development of integrated control system in coal mining and energy industries” and leading this project to the completion. In 2018, I was invited to the CMC Institute of Science and Technology – CIST with the role of Director, to work on AI/BIG DATA and developing long-term Science and Technology strategic plan for the CMC Corporation. In 2019, I setup my own company named VDSMART to work on R&D of AI applications for Education. With the strong background of Technology and Management, I am not only a Technologist but also a Researcher/Professor and Entrepreneurs, who can realize Tech Idea into successful business model and real-life product to serve the society. Thus, my motivation to join SBC is to have an opportunity to realize my ideas for applying latest technologies to human life. |

Significant achievements | With my strong inter-disciplinary backgrounds and experiences, highly customer-oriented, persistence and creativities, I was recognized with various achievements as follows: 1. Inventor of VIEBOT in 2016, the first Vietnamese humanoid AI-powered Robot with real-human size, having the capability of mimicking people hand and head gestures, face recognition, speaking Vietnamese by Text-to-Speech technology, autonomous moving & following people and helping visual-impaired people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzP7QmLkSJA 2. Chosen by IBM to provide Interactive Advertisement Technology for IBM Tech Expo 2014 in Hanoi. (2014) 3.
