EXECUTION AND SCALEUP

About Catalyst for Change Vietnam

This pitch video introduces Catalyst for Change Vietnam, a social enterprise dedicated to creating positive impact on Vietnamese women and children through educational volunteerism, cultural immersion and empowerment.

Business Model Canvas

a. Teach For Change Program (TFC)

TFC program is a service that provides a unique culture exchange experience for international volunteers and connects them with women-led English centers to teach children in Vietnam. Our program aims to bridge the gap between global communities and enhance English language education in Vietnam.

  • 23+ active TFC partner language centers operating throughout Vietnam.
  • 1100+ volunteers have participated in our TFC program.
  • 36+ countries where volunteers have joined us from.
  • 5,000+ Vietnamese students are learning English.

b. The Empowerment Plan (TEP):

The Empowerment Plan is a service that utilizes funds generated from the TFC program to support disadvantaged and marginalized women in Vietnam. Our aim is to provide comprehensive support and empowerment through vocational training, business skills development, psychological therapy, and financial assistance.

  1. Her Academy: An online platform offering courses on self-improvement, childcare, and business management, equipping women with knowledge and skills.
  2. Her Craft: A vocational training center and shop teaching women handcrafting skills and providing a platform to sell their products.
  3. Her Kitchen: A restaurant offering free culinary and hospitality training programs for women in need.
  • 260,000+ women have connected through Her Academy open Facebook group
  • 996 women have received direct money support (2.917.500 VND was deducted from TEP Fund)
  • 398 mothers have received support in training, psychological counseling, business skills training, parenting skills, etc. online
  • 60 ethnic minority women have been trained under 1-year offline professional training and working in Her Craft.
  • 14 women have been trained and are working in Her Kitchen.

Our strategic focus on underserved areas and women-led centers positions us uniquely within the market. By concentrating our efforts on these regions, we avoid the fierce competition prevalent in urban centers and tap into a largely unaddressed market.

Vision for scale-up

  • Expand Global Partnerships:

Target: 5 new partners/year with global NGOs, corporate sponsors, and government support. These partnerships will provide additional resources, expertise, and reach, enhancing our program’s effectiveness and sustainability.

  • Nationwide Reach:

Goal: Extend our reach to hosting partners in 30 provinces in Vietnam. This expansion will ensure that even the most remote and underserved areas benefit from our programs, promoting equitable access to education and empowerment opportunities. We will leverage our existing network to identify local champions who can lead and sustain our initiatives in these regions.

  • Diversify Business Model:
  1. Paid Internships/Volunteering: Introduce paid internships and volunteering opportunities to attract a broader range of participants, including university students and young professionals. This strategy not only provides valuable work experience but also fosters a sense of ownership and commitment to our mission among the younger generation.
  2. Engage Retired Professionals: Tap into the vast experience of retired professionals, engaging them as mentors and trainers. Their expertise and life experience will be invaluable in developing and delivering high-quality programs.
  3. Connect with Vietnamese living abroad: Strengthen connections with the Vietnamese diaspora, encouraging them to contribute their knowledge, skills, and resources. This global network can provide unique perspectives and support, enriching our programs and extending our reach.
  • Impact 1 Million Women:

This ambitious target will be met by leveraging technology and innovative approaches to education and empowerment. By systematically scaling successful pilot programs, we can ensure that they reach a wider audience without compromising quality.
