Proposal
Context: There are unfortunately limited job opportunities and resources for the disadvantaged, especially the disabled in the current society.
Social problem: People in the marginalized groups (i.e people with disabilities, people with autism, homeless people,…) find it very difficult to find suitable jobs and make a living.
Why is it the case?
The crux of the matter lies in the suitability of jobs for these disadvantaged communities.
People being affected by the problem: People in the marginalized groups (i.e people with disabilities, people with autism, homeless people,…)
Severity of the problem: Given today’s currently competitive labor market and the lack of effective allocation of resources, the marginalized community can be considered as a burden of the society.
Call to action: It is vitally important to have suitable business models to create jobs for the marginalized groups in the society.
Social Idea: Meko established a fast food restaurant chain focusing on unique and high quality products while creating jobs for a plenty of disadvantaged people. It acts as a contributor to the achievement of the UN Goals including Goal 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 and 10.
