Instructions for R2 submission

Notes:

  1. You must submit a recorded presentation totaling 10 minutes (in any format and style) to your landing page for regional evaluation by 23h59 on June 15, 2023 (Montreal time).
  2. Only the lab leader can submit the group work. Click here for the evaluation form for Round 2.
  3. If you want to make public only the product prototype and keep your business model presentation confidential, you can create two videos but make sure that the total time of both videos stays within 10 minutes.
  4. In the case that you want to keep your business model presentation confidential, we can help you create a page that requires a password to enter. See the instructions in Step 2.
  5. The process of submission is similar to what you did in Round 1. The whole process should take less than 30 minutes if all your materials are ready.
  6. Your lab needs to score 30% on a 100-point scale to pass. If your lab is among the top 30%, we will send you the link to select the one-on-one coaching session on June 24, 2023. You may skip these sessions if you do not want to compete for the global prize of this round (i.e., “Innovative Social Business Concept”). You must book your slot by June 25 (23h59 Montreal time) to be in global coaching schedule  on June 26. If you do not book your slot by the deadline, you will not compete for the global prize of this round. If you complete the coaching requirement, we will send you on June 29 the link to the global presentation of June 30.

Step 1: Update your landing page

1. Go to the project page

Go to your profile and click on “Pages”

Go to your project description page in which you submitted the materials for the regional evaluation of Round 1. Then, click “Edit” to update the page.

2. Update your project description page and upload your new video(s).

Put the video(s) of Round 2 at the top of the page.

You can upload new videos directly to the site or insert a link from Youtube where you post your video.

Given the learning and fieldwork results, you should refine the text of the section “Social challenge” and “Social solution” to better describe your project.

Make sure that you keep your video about your social innovation (which you submitted to Round 1) at the end of your page. This landing page is an important communication tool to promote your business to potential supporters and investors (who may not be SBC coaches or judges).

3. Strengthen your argument

You should post your performance proof, fieldwork evidence, and any document that can strengthen your presentation (for example, scientific studies, statistics, etc.).

4. Check to make sure your page appears precisely how you want to present it to the judges

Step 2. Create a confidential page

1. Create a new page

Go to your profile and click on “Pages”

Click on “Add new”

Enter the title of the page and post it to your competition group

2. Message sbc-community that you want to make the page confidential.

In your message, make sure to give us the title of your page and your password.

We will publish your page as a protected page for you. The password will be sent to judges only.

3. Continue editing your page until you are satisfied with your presentation.

You should post your performance proof, fieldwork evidence, and any document that can strengthen your presentation (for example, scientific studies, statistics, etc.).

Check to make sure your page appears precisely how you want to present it to the judges.
